How to keep little ones busy this Easter

    April 5, 2017

With children around the country set to break up for the Easter holidays, parents everywhere are preparing to have their children at home. Full of Easter eggs and sugary treats, the energy they would have burnt off at school is now being used to run up and down your living room.

So with that in mind, we thought it would be a good idea to put together a handy guide to surviving the Easter holidays. With everything from Easter egg hunts, day trips out and DIY arts and crafts, Yumi has you covered.

The best things in life are free. Christmas feels like it was only few weeks ago and with the summer holidays fast approaching, money can be tight. As a result, we’ve created 2 free bunny masks for your little ones to colour in and enjoy.  Perfect for keeping them entertained for a few hours whilst you tidy up or run a bath (imagine the luxury!). All you have to do is click the link below, print them off and let little creatives do the rest. Share the finished product with #LoveYumi for a chance to be featured on our social media.

    Moomin adventures at Kew Gardens

Everyone’s favourite Scandinavian characters have come out of hibernation in time for spring and are making their way to Kew Gardens.  Designed to get children to value nature, this event is filled with interactive trails, activity workshops and play areas. Running from 1st-17th April, this is one event they won’t want to miss.

     Create your own cinema

It’s raining, it’s pouring, the old man is snoring. April showers are the vein of every parent throughout half term. With the weather constantly changing and little ones becoming easily bored when stuck indoors, creating an at home cinema will provide hours of entertainment- and more importantly, some peace and quiet. Decorate the living room with cosy blankets and cushions, chips and dip for snacking and their favourite films for a relaxed afternoon while you wish for sunshine.

Bright colours and bold patterns. No, we aren’t talking about our new Spring/Summer collection (which by the way, we are obsessed with), we’re talking about our love of hand painted eggs.  A great way to get little hands stuck in and occupied, this Easter-themed DIY is cheap and cheerful. Simply grab some eggs out of the fridge, boil them and then leave to cool. Decorate the eggs with glitter, bright paints and fun prints for a unique spin on an Easter classic.
