Now the chill has arrived, it’s all about wrapping up in style and an on-trend skirt is essential for your winter wardrobe. Leather skirts have made a huge impact on the catwalk, and are perfect for toughening up girlier pieces. Elegant yet edgy, leather was seen on every AW 2012 runway from Lanvin to Mulberry (above middle) and the A-list are hot on the trend, with Diane Kruger (above left) and Olivia Palermo (above right) sporting leather skirts at New York Fashion Week last month. While Diane let her Calvin Klein, black mini do the talking, Olivia went bohemian in a tan, mid-length skirt, paired with a cream shirt. Channel Diane or Olivia’s style with our unique-textured leather pencil skirt, as it comes in black and brown!
Tweed was a key texture on the AW 2012 catwalks, with Burberry Prorsum flying the flag for traditional country-chic. Kate Bosworth caused fashion-envy in her Burberry A/W ’12 sophisticated pencil and peplum skirt (get her look here!), while feminine pastel tweed featured heavily at Chanel AW12 Couture.
If your style is hippy at heart then the maxi skirt is the perfect transitional piece for your wardrobe. Layered with tights and cosy knits, the maxi will keep you snug and looking chic. Poppy Delevingne (above right) and Ashley Olsen (above left) are our inspiration for rocking a maxi- while Poppy dresses up her romantic skirt with a biker jacket, funky tee, lace-up boots and a satchel, Ashley is warm but glam in her jersey maxi, a leather blazer, sweater and fur bag. We love the versatility of the maxi and our pleated version comes in three gorgeous colours- each with a cute skinny belt so you can mirror Poppy’s polished look.
