Glastonbury, the world’s most famous festival returns this week and here at Yumi we’ve been inspired to take a look back at the festival’s most memorable moments – from the performances on the stage, to the fashion off it.
After a straw poll at Yumi HQ we decided the most unforgettable performances of the past few years came courtesy of Beyonce in 2011 and Coldplay in the same year. Also at the top of our ‘I wish I’d been there’ hit list was the Muse set in 2010 which saw the Edge from U2 on guest guitar, the Brit pop take over from Pulp and Blur in 1995, and The Killers rocking out to Mr Brightside in 2005.
Fashion-wsie who could forget Sienna Miller’s 2004 look – she practically coined the phrase ‘boho-chic’ and started a craze for neon sunglasses that year. Nicola Roberts also stood out looking oh so cool in Hunter wellies circa 2009 whilst festival regular Alexa Chung looked her best (but perhaps not very practical) in 2011 in a white crochet dress, ankle boots, and a Chanel bag.
But by far the best fashion moments over the years have been brought to us by queen of Galsto, Kate Moss. Miss Moss always lets her rock chick side out at Glastonbury wearing a tried but tested wardrobe of micro shorts, hunter wellies and leather biker jackets.
