Drape

Simply draping the scarf evenly around your neck and letting each end hang side by side creates a stylish aesthetic that is effortlessly chic. As this method doesn’t cover your neck, it is an ideal option for dressing up your spring and summer wardrobe and provides an excellent way to show off a bright patterned scarf.

Front Tie

For a more secure tie that is more appropriate for when the weather is a little cooler, try the front tie method. First, drape the scarf evenly around your neck and let it hang, and then cross the two ends over and tie them together, positioning the scarf in the middle of your chest. This method is great for those days when you decide to throw on a jacket over your outfit and can be achieved with a woolly, knitted scarf for extra warmth.

Loop Through

One of our go-to styles for the winter season, the loop through method allows you to cover your neck completely and ensures that you stay warm in cooler temperatures. Get the look by folding your scarf in half lengthways, draping it around your neck and pulling both ends through the loop on the opposite side. This kind of tie looks flawless when paired with a knitted cardigan or a light jacket and adds a point of interest to your ensemble, whether you choose a woolly or faux fur design.

Neck Tie

This simple tie is an excellent option to try with a satin or linen scarf as it allows you to secure it with ease while showing off the beautiful hues and patterns of the fabric at the same time. Drape your scarf around your neck, making sure that one end is longer than the other – this will allow you to create the knot. Place the longer end behind and then over the shorter end to make a loop. Finally, feed the longer end up and into the loop, and tighten the knot to suit your taste. 

Snood

When the temperature begins to drop, why not try out the snood trend to keep yourself warm? While you might not own one yet, scarves are super-versatile which means that you can create your own in an instant. Simply knot the two opposite corners of your scarf together to make a circle, put it over your head with the knot at the back, then twist and swing it over again.
