Valentine’s Dream Date – Rooftop Cinema
We may be quick off the mark here but love it or hate it, Valentine’s day is on the horizon, so we thought we would give you a few date ideas, things that we would love to do! Kensington Roof Gardens are reopening their exclusive rooftop film club. The two films showing on Thursday February 14 are the 1989 romantic comedy, When Harry Met Sally, and the beautiful black and white 1942 classic, Casablanca. The viewings take place amongst picturesque, themed scenery situated 100ft above Kensington High Street. While it’s winter, spectators will be seated in a tucked-away, heated marquee, so Little Black Dresses are a possibility, though perhaps take…

Tea Break Tuesday: Viva Forever!
It’s Tea-Break Tuesday Time! This week our PR Manager Fleur gives us her review of the newest and spiciest musical in London; “Friday night was a trip to Piccadilly’s Denman Street for Viva Forever! – the Spice Girls musical that has been attracting some mixed reviews since its launch late last year (yes, the one where VB tried to ignore the rest of the Spices and steal the limelight as per usual!) We were late for the first 20 minutes and had to wait in the foyer thanks to unreliable London Transport. Once we were ushered in there was an explosion of glitter and lighting as the second scene launched into the…

A Very Royal Visit: Princess Eugenie Meets Yumi at Bread and Butter
We’ve been at the Bread and Butter tradeshow in Berlin showcasing our upcoming collection and very excitingly we had a visit from none other than Princess Eugenie! She was in Berlin with her sister Princess Beatrice as they are trade ambassadors for the GREAT Campaign – a government initiative to promote business and attract visitors to Great Britain. At Bread and Butter the princesses met with British brands who were flying the flag – including us! We were very honored that she took the time to talk to us and show an interest in our brand, she had a look through the collection and was a pleasure to meet!

Anticipating Spring: The Most Romantic Trends of Spring/Summer 2013
The Spring/Summer 2013 collections are all bound by a cool and purified vibe – they feel sweet, refined and predominantly light. Lavish, wintery materials have been replaced with soft tailoring and gauzy fabrics, yet emphasis on texture and couture detailing creates a complex sophistication. Being a romanticist, my favourite runway theme was the fairy-tale enchantment that was exuded through beautiful blooms, intricate lattice, crochet, broderie patterns and waterfall ruffles. Florals are traditionally a covetable Spring/Summer print, prettying up the simplest of pieces, yet this year flower power has gone more vibrant than ever. Holly Fulton’s three-dimensional, floral appliqués (above left) were a personal London Fashion Week highlight, while Oscar de…

Sky High Style: Birdie Prints
Birds are timeless, as demonstrated by Sienna Miller’s famous, swallow wrist-tattoo (see here) and the re-occurrence of dainty wings on the catwalks. Designs took flight at Tibi AW 2012, where designer Amy Smilovic feminised the casual attitude and masculine tailoring of her AW pieces with graphic bird silhouettes in black and navy. While Smilovic’s birdies soared elegantly over silk shirts, skirts and pants, Burberry’s countrified AW12 collection coveted woodland owls that perched on cosy knits. Actress Lizzie Olsen is a fan of the vintage-look birdie, pictured (top) in an Isabel Marant, tiny bird-adorned blouse. Stylist Joe McKenna chose to put Brit model Edie Campbell (below) in a cockerel-motif jumper for…

Happy Birthday David Bowie!
Yep, today one of our all time favourite pop stars turns 66! He has also very excitingly announced that he is soon releasing a new album – his first in 10 years! David Bowie is no stranger to fashion experimentation and along with his music, it is for this reason that we love him so (oh and also Labyrinth; 1980’s styling + Bowie in lycra + The Muppets = one of the best movies ever!) Take this image from 1973, where Bowie is showing us all how to rock the monochrome stripe – along with a handbag and bracelets. An outfit so timeless it still looks fabulous today. So grab…
