We popped down to Graduate Fashion Week 2012
We popped by the Graduate Fashion Week Gala Awards last night to take in the future faces of fashion and we have to say, we were extremely impressed! There were crazy shapes, vibrant textiles and colours galore! Graduate Fashion Week showcases the collections of more than 1,200 BA students from 40 universities and colleges throughout the UK.
Chloe Jones, from Bath Spa University, took home the prestigious Gold Award, worth £20,000 for the best student collection. The monastic themed collection, entitled Our Father Who Art in Heaven, mixed stone-grey chiffon and crystal-embossed sweat-shirting, image above. Previous winners include Burberry’s creative director Christopher Bailey, so Chloe is no doubt one to watch!
A special Lifetime Achievement Award was given to photographer Chris Moore, the man behind the fashion resource that is catwalking.com. Chris is renowned in the industry, having photographed thousands of shows for over 40 years! Wow!
Celebrity judges and presenters included Jefferson Hack, Mary Katrantzou, Julien Macdonald, Matthew Williamson, Daisy Lowe, Mark Fast and Caroline Flack. We also spotted iconic 60’s Biba owner Barbara Hulanicki!
