A Vintage Weekend: Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair
The only reason to skip a lie-in on a Saturday is for a serious rummage amongst a treasure trove of vintage gems. London’s largest and FREE vintage market returns to Spitalfields, East London on December 8, and I cannot wait to get hunting for some fabulous, passé finds.
Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair – born in Yorkshire in 2005 – is the on-the-move, all-vintage trading event that has been hailed a ‘shopping phenomenon’, has appeared in Vogue and Elle magazines and has been frequently attended by the likes of antiquarian-lovers actress Chloe Sevigny and model Daisy Lowe. Judy Berger is a woman after my own heart, founding her now-famous shopping event because, she says: “I had nothing to wear!”
With a hundred UK vintage purveyors setting up stalls, the fair offers a whole century of stock, from the very best in Victorian fashion and kitch homewares to tea-sets and vinyl records with a story to tell. Whether you’re searching for a specific something to add to a vintage archive or just looking to browse the sale rails, Judy’s offers funky pieces of history that won’t cost the earth.
