Holiday packing like a pro with Charlotte Adsett
Charlotte Adsett, the fashion stylist who worked on the Yumi A/W 13 shoot with singer Nina Nesbitt, gives her tips for holiday packing like a pro:
I pack huge suitcases full of clothes and shoes on almost a daily basis for fashion shoots in London and tropical climes, but when it comes to holidays, travelling light is the way to go.
1. Lay everything you want to take out on your bed so you are able to see exactly what you have so you can easily edit it down to ideally half – you only want to take hard working pieces that with go with other items to create different outfits. My must haves include maxi dresses you can wear with flats during the day then dress up for evenings, and kimonos which are a great beach bar cover up and will also keep you warm on cooler nights.
2. Pack shoes at the bottom of your case in between Zip lock bags of underwear, swimwear and accessories to protect them and maximize space
3. Rolling clothes really does take up half the space of folding and is best for keeping creases to a minimum. Any creases will drop out if you hang clothes by the steam shower.
4. I’ve learnt from past experiences of my case being delayed to take a change of clothes, underwear and mini toiletries with me on the plane. And make sure you have the right insurance cover for worst case scenario situations.
