Stunning Gowns at the Emmy Awards!

Last night in sunny (not that we’re jealous…….) LA, the Emmy Awards took place, they are the Oscars for television shows and the ladies dress up just as much on the red carpet! We have had a look through all the fabulous images and picked our edit of the best dresses from the night. We particularly loved the above dresses worn by Kelly Osbourne, Christina Hendricks and Michelle Dockery, all super elegant and feminine. We noticed key colour trends of red, yellow and blue coming through strongly and these gorgeous ladies in red, from left to right, Kat Denning (from 2 broke girls), Cat Deeley and Gretchen Moll were the…

Our New York Fashion Week Favourites!

Oh we do love when it’s fashion month! Every day we are treated to new collections from the world’s best designers, showcasing their Spring/Summer 2013 lines. First up is New York Fashion Week and we have already been treated to some highly covetable garments, here are our favourite shows so far…… We have to admit, we do have a soft spot for Marc Jacobs (above) who channeled the swinging 60’s with stripes, spots and checks but with his slick silhouettes, he gave the reference an updated feel. Rodarte (below) went a bit further back in time with a more Medieval reference – mixed with biker leathers, oh yeah, what a combination! Then moving on to classic…

Getting to Know Yumi Junior Designer Debbie Green

September is fashion month! The four fashion weeks New York, London, Milan and Paris run back to back and reveal to us the trends for Spring/Summer 2013. To celebrate this fashion frenzy, we sat down with our Junior Yumi Designer, Debbie Green and talked to her about her life as a fashion designer and our current AW12 collection……… I remember always drawing clothes from a very young age – I loved using my Fashion Wheel (GREAT retro toy – refresh your memory here) and when I got a bit older and realised it was possible to draw clothes for a living, I knew that was what I wanted to do!…

We shot the new images in a gorgeous town house in East London and had so much fun getting in the Christmas party mood in um, late August. Ella and Daisy Shoot Yumi AW12

Who are Ella and Daisy you may ask? Well, they were two lovely interns we recently had here at Yumi HQ. Eager to learn all they could about the industry, they really impressed us by styling and shooting this little photoshoot, using their favourite pieces from our Autumn/Winter 2012 collection! Ella is the model you see in the pictures and Daisy was behind the scenes, taking on the role of photographer. We think you’ll agree that they did a fabulous job and made the collection look fun and fashionable – exactly encompassing the Yumi spirit!
