The Statement Trouser
I am having a full-blown love affair with statement trousers. And by statement, I mean prints galore. From slim cigarette pants to slouchy styles, patterned trousers rocked the AW12 runways. While Miu Miu (above left) opted for kooky trouser suits reminiscent of funky 70’s wallpaper, Prada (above right) had us solving optical illusions with geometrical trews. If channeling Miucci Prada-esque print on print seems scary to you, then team your patterned pants with clean basics. London Fashion Week saw Poppy Delevingne (below right) showcase her trending trews with simple, chic pieces. Rodarte’s Luxe Lattes For Starbucks
Rodarte’s latest collaboration is simply genius: sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy have designed a range of funky goods for hot drinks purveyor extraordinaire, Starbucks. This week sees the release of the limited-edition range that consists of a coffee mug, a re-useable cup sleeve, gift cards and a tote bag – all with a stylish grey, white and silver pixelated print. Although the collaboration will be launched in time for Christmas, the Mulleavy’s have stuck with their differentiated outlook on fashion; so not a reindeer in sight! Pudsey Bear gets a Fashion Makeover!
For Children in Need this year – not only are Girls Aloud providing the official song with their fantabulous new song (listen here) but editor of Love magazine and stylist Katie Grand has got her fashion pals including Burberry, Alexander McQueen, Jonathan Saunders and Balenciaga to each give Pudsey bear a makeover in their own personal style. These will then be auctioned off for charity by Christie’s on 15th November to raise money for the charity. You can go and have a little look at the bears in the Pudsey space at Selfridges until 14th November. So, we need to know – which bear is your favourite?

Must Have Winter Skirts
Now the chill has arrived, it’s all about wrapping up in style and an on-trend skirt is essential for your winter wardrobe. Leather skirts have made a huge impact on the catwalk, and are perfect for toughening up girlier pieces. Elegant yet edgy, leather was seen on every AW 2012 runway from Lanvin to Mulberry (above middle) and the A-list are hot on the trend, with Diane Kruger (above left) and Olivia Palermo (above right) sporting leather skirts at New York Fashion Week last month. This weekend, we are going to be popping along to the Saatchi gallery to see The Little Black Jacket exhibition which celebrates Karl Lagerfeld’s new book. With the help of ex-French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld, Karl has photographed a fantastic array of stylish celebs wearing the classic Chanel little black jacket. It is fascinating to see the same garment worn in such different ways, along with the personality of the wearers coming through. Last night in sunny (not that we’re jealous…….) LA, the Emmy Awards took place, they are the Oscars for television shows and the ladies dress up just as much on the red carpet! We have had a look through all the fabulous images and picked our edit of the best dresses from the night. We particularly loved the above dresses worn by Kelly Osbourne, Christina Hendricks and Michelle Dockery, all super elegant and feminine. Our New York Fashion Week Favourites!
Oh we do love when it’s fashion month! Every day we are treated to new collections from the world’s best designers, showcasing their Spring/Summer 2013 lines. First up is New York Fashion Week and we have already been treated to some highly covetable garments, here are our favourite shows so far…… We have to admit, we do have a soft spot for Marc Jacobs (above) who channeled the swinging 60’s with stripes, spots and checks but with his slick silhouettes, he gave the reference an updated feel. Behind the Scenes at our Shoot with Model Comp Winner Megan McMinn!
A few months ago we ran a competition with Sapphires Models to find a fresh new girl to be the face of our Winter campaign. Our hunt found us the fabulous flame haired Megan McMinn (find out more about her in a little interview here) who was a complete star all day, never faltering and working each look we styled her up in! We shot the new images in a gorgeous town house in East London and had so much fun getting in the Christmas party mood in um, late August.
