Yep, we are most excited to be at The Clothes Show Live this weekend (well, Friday 7th – Tuesday 11th December) and we would love you guys to come along and say hello! Apart from our wonderful faces (and dresses!), there is so much fashion goodness all weekend including celebs in the form of Daisy Lowe, Henry Holland, JLS, TOWIE stars and lots more. There are fashion shows, including Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model, live music, experts to give you careers advise if you fancy getting into this fabulous industry, live interviews with designers, celebrity hair sessions and of course – lot’s of shopping! We spent Friday in an opulent house in East London, channeling a stylish and decadent spirit. If a fab location, gorgeous clothes and brilliant models weren’t enough, we were treated on the day to the company of the cutest pug dog in the world! Can you spot her in the pics?

Yumi SS13 Press Day
Yesterday we held our Spring/Summer 2013 Press Day, where we showcased our brand new upcoming season to the fashion press and bloggers. We had a fabulous day filled with Krispy Kreme donuts, iced tea and massages from our 1950’s-esque House Husband – pictured below! As you can see, our new collection has a distinctly 1950’s vibe, full of fresh and bright colours and of course, we have a generous helping of our signature quirky prints! And speaking of prints, here’s a little sneaky peek for you of the new season favourites…..

Trend Alert: Sixties Chic Collars
Collars are still having their moment of glory, and we adore them here at Yumi! Featuring on elegant swing coats and dainty-chic blouses at Chloe (above left), and decorating snug sweater dresses at Rodarte (above right), Peter Pan collars are one of the cutest details of the season. Named after the collar on the costume worn by actress Maude Adams in the 1905 Broadway ‘Peter Pan’, the collar naturally adds a charming, vintage feel to any outfit. Brigitte Bardot (below left) famously turned the prim and proper buttoned up look into a sophisticated and sexy look. September is fashion month! The four fashion weeks New York, London, Milan and Paris run back to back and reveal to us the trends for Spring/Summer 2013. To celebrate this fashion frenzy, we sat down with our Junior Yumi Designer, Debbie Green and talked to her about her life as a fashion designer and our current AW12 collection……… I remember always drawing clothes from a very young age – I loved using my Fashion Wheel (GREAT retro toy – refresh your memory here) and when I got a bit older and realised it was possible to draw clothes for a living, I knew that was what I wanted to do!…

Behind the Scenes at our Shoot with Model Comp Winner Megan McMinn!
A few months ago we ran a competition with Sapphires Models to find a fresh new girl to be the face of our Winter campaign. Our hunt found us the fabulous flame haired Megan McMinn (find out more about her in a little interview here) who was a complete star all day, never faltering and working each look we styled her up in! We shot the new images in a gorgeous town house in East London and had so much fun getting in the Christmas party mood in um, late August.
