Top 5 Christmas Party Destinations: Where to go and what to wear

Party season is upon us once again and with so many people to catch up with for a drink before December 25th, we’ve put together our top choices of where to go and what to do depending on the type of occasion.

1) The Office Party at Sushi Samba
This is the usually the biggest party of your Christmas social calendar and requires serious planning and outfit coordination (heaven forbid you wear the same dress as Helen in Finance). If price is no object then make it a night to remember with dinner and drinks at Sushi Samba. Featuring stunning views from the top of the Heron Tower and a menu that fuses the best of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine.

Dress Code: Glamour Puss – a sparkly dress and high heels. For added luxe, throw a faux fur jacket over your shoulders.

Heron Tower, 110 Bishopsgate, London EC2N 4AY

2) Girls Night Out at Experimental Cocktail Club

A night out with your girlfriends calls for full on glamour. Match your outfit to your surroundings with a night of cocktail drinking at Soho’s ‘Experimental Cocktail Club’. An opulent and elegant speakeasy bar in the heart of London, which boasts a creative and sophisticated drinks menu – one of the best in town.

Dress Code: A cocktail dress with a cocktail in hand.

3) Family Fun at Winter Wonderland

Casual chic, you’re not trying to impress anyone here. This night is all about catching up with your loved ones before Christmas week madness begins. Start the night with a trip to London’s Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park where you can all indulge in some Gluhwein and Belgian waffles. Follow up with a skate around the ice rink but make sure to book in advance to beat the crowds. Afterwards, take a short stroll through the park towards Selfridges and check out their Chalet-chic rooftop bar which recently opened for Christmas. Enjoy dinner and drinks by candle light and make sure you order the apple strudel for dessert.

Dress Code: Wrap up warm with a fur coat and a matching hat, scarf and gloves.

Le Chalet: Selfridges, 400 Oxford Street, London, W1A 1AB

4) With your significant other, dinner at Beach Blanket Babylon

The romantic night out that you both deserve, away from the Christmas deadlines and last minute shopping. Treat yourselves to a decadent dinner at a top London restaurant and follow up with drinks at a cosy, off the beaten track bar. We recommend you try ‘Beach Blanket Babylon’ in Shoreditch on Bethnal Green Road and a drink afterwards in the Owl and The Pussycat around the corner – an East London favourite.

Dress Code: Dial up the wow factor in a romantic and feminine evening dress.

Beach Blanket Babylon: 19 – 23 Bethnal Green Road, Shoreditch London E1 6LA

5) When catching up with old friends, head to Dean Street Townhouse for Afternoon Tea

Not all Christmas parties need to be evening affairs which is why a spot of afternoon tea is perfect for catching up with old friends. Dean Street Townhouse is our preferred choice owing to its central London location, British art collection and all round beautiful décor. Townhouse Tea, £19.50 3pm – 6pm.

Dress Code: A delicate floral print dress, the daintiest bag you have.

Dean Street Townhouse: 69 – 71 Dean Street, Soho London W1
