Trend Alert: Sixties Chic Collars

Collars are still having their moment of glory, and we adore them here at Yumi! Featuring on elegant swing coats and dainty-chic blouses at Chloe (above left), and decorating snug sweater dresses at Rodarte (above right), Peter Pan collars are one of the cutest details of the season. Named after the collar on the costume worn by actress Maude Adams in the 1905 Broadway ‘Peter Pan’, the collar naturally adds a charming, vintage feel to any outfit. Brigitte Bardot (below left) famously turned the prim and proper buttoned up look into a sophisticated and sexy look.

Our ultimate inspiration for channeling the collar is Alexa Chung (above right), whose wardrobe is full of quirky yet classic collared tea dresses, shirts and playsuits. Sweeten up your style and embrace the sixties like Alexa with one of our own collared beauties. My absolute favourite collared piece is the Mini Rose Print Coat, (below left) perfect for looking like an old film star on all those Wintery walks, while the Polka Dot Dress (below right) would look beautiful for work or play.
