Yumi Loves Winter: Get blogger A Clothes Horse’s Look

Rebecca wears our owl and floral print midi dress

Rebecca Stice, the lovely lady behind AClothesHorse.co.uk is a leading blogger based in Northern Ireland. She’s contributed to Refinery29, Glamour, WWD, Teen Vogue and Lucky Mag, to name just a few.

Here, she tells Yumi HQ all her style secrets.

How would you describe your autumn/winter style?

Cozy! I’m not quite “feral sweater child” territory but I love to layer and want to wear all of the knits when it starts to get cold.

Who are your biggest influences when it comes to the way you dress?

Possibly vintage films, but I find inspiration everywhere so it’s hard to say what the biggest influence is. I love films from the 1940s, film noir, but also other bloggers, street style, and runways—Valentino makes my dream wardrobe.

Have you always been passionate about clothes?

Yes and no, I remember as a child being so interested in costume design in movies that I sketched out my favorite dresses on construction paper. But I was super self-conscious as a teenager and fell into the trap of jeans and tees and trying to look invisible. It took me a long time to get over that and start dressing in a way that inspired me, but I never lost my love of vintage films and clothing styles.

Where would you wear your Yumi look?

Everywhere; I’m a creative who usually works from home so my wardrobe is very “anything goes.” So I tend to overdress for grocery shopping or running errands; I just dress however I like most days while trying to be a little practical with it.

What do you love about Yumi?

Yumi has the cutest prints (I love my Yumi dress with the owl print!) and the brand has a retro aesthetic that really suits my style perfectly.

What are your favourite trends for AW15?

Cute printed sweaters and 70s influences—I usually love styles from the 1940s and 50s, but the 70s has been growing on me lately.

What are your essential autumn/winter style tips?

Bundle up, collect some fall leaves, and eat all of the comfort food you want! Autumn is lovely (in my opinion) but winter can get pretty brutal, so it’s good to indulge in some comfort activities—read a new book or learn a new recipe.

What are your favourite pieces from the Yumi AW15 collection?

The dip dye fur coat is so gorgeous and the check print skater dress is lovely too.

What makes your country an amazing place to live?

Northern Ireland is awesome, I just moved here so as an American it’s very exciting to live somewhere with so much history and culture.

How would you describe your country’s winter style?

This is my first winter here so I guess I’m going to find out! But it doesn’t get as cold here as it does where I was the last few winters (Pennsylvania) so I expect there will be less snow boots and down jackets!

Where would you recommend visiting in your country?

Definitely, Ireland is as green as everyone says and there are some absolutely breathtaking natural wonders to admire, not to mention the castles! Who doesn’t love a good castle?

We couldn’t agree more.
