Yumi Loves Winter: Get blogger FAIIINT’s winter style

Stephanie wears Gold Spot Pleated Midi Skirt, £27

Stephanie Brown, the style maven behind the blog FAIIINT, is an independent designer and blogger with her own chic clothing line.

Here, she chats to us about her biggest style influences as well as her fave Yumi look.

How would you describe your autumn/winter style?

Lots of layering, lots of texture mixing and lots of black – as always!

Who are your biggest influences when it comes to the way you dress?

I don’t really have particular style icons, I like to just take a little bit of inspiration from everywhere, whenever it pops up and then mix it up. It can be other bloggers, my favourite designers, someone walking past me in the street, art, architecture, a great movie, a character, a photo on Tumblr… Anything can set me off!

Have you always been passionate about clothes?

Not always, I was a huge tomboy as a kid and I pretty much lived in tracksuits, jeans and oversized tees! I started making more of an effort with the way I dressed around 15 or so, but it wasn’t until my fashion course at college that I started getting truly passionate about clothing and developing my style.

Where would you wear your Yumi look?

I think the gold spot skirt makes it feel quite festive, so I would wear it like this for Christmas drinks or wrapped up with a jacket and chunky scarf over the top for browsing the Christmas markets or shopping.

What do you love about Yumi?

Everything is so well made and always in beautiful quality fabrics too, and that’s something that’s really important to me when buying clothing. I also love that a lot of the prints are designed in house, so you know it’s unique and you won’t see it elsewhere.

What are your favourite trends for AW15?

Being a lover of all black, the gothic romance/Victoriana trend with all the lace, sheer fabrics and texture mixing is easily my favourite, it’s everything I love and I’d happily wear it head to toe. I also really liked all the faux fur & shearling pieces that were all over the catwalks.

What are your essential autumn/winter style tips?

Invest in a good coat, always! Play with layering up lighter weight pieces like thin jumpers, cardigans, jackets, wraps and scarves instead of just sticking a big jumper on, it makes things more interesting and they’ll keep you even more warm and cosy too.

What are your favourite pieces from the Yumi AW15 collection?

I love the grey Dip-Dye Faux Fur Coat, the black Textured Biker Coat, the black Lurex Kimono Cardigan & the black Pleated Knitted Jumper Dress.
