Monday to Sunday: How To Wear A Denim Skirt

    January 29, 2019
    Floral Stripe Top

It’s no secret that denim is adaptable for any occasion. However, it’s often difficult to know what to pair it with and where to wear it. Here at Yumi HQ, we’re breaking the rules of denim being a casual fabric. Gone are the days of feeling underdressed and too informal at the office or at dinner; formal denim is on its way back and we’re ready for it.

To challenge this theory, we’ve complied a list of outfits to wear for each day of the week. What’s more, it only includes one staple piece: a denim skirt.

For Monday to Sunday style without the hassle, here are 8 ways (we’ve given you an extra style) to dress in denim.

    The Main Event

A switch up from jeans and leggings, this denim skirt is an essential for your collection. In a fitted shape and a midi length style, this versatile skirt combines our love of retro and our appreciation of modern style. With functional pockets and comfortable material, it’ll rival any skirt in your wardrobe.

    Monday

Leopard Print and Denim Skirt style

Leopard Print, Denim Skirt and Trench Coat

Start the week right by dressing office-smart. A perfect workwear outfit, we’ve placed the denim skirt with a leopard print top and a trench coat to accentuate the formal feel. Sophisticated and stylish, continue this look at after-work drinks.

And if animal print isn’t your thing, keep scrolling…

    Tuesday

    Dog Print Blouse

Dalmatian Shirt, Denim Skirt and Embroidered Bag

Monday’s over and you’re one step closer to Friday night. Celebrate this accomplishment by sporting a different sort of animal print. In keeping with the work outfit, the floral bag complements the look. Dinner with the girls after work? Not a problem, simply untuck the dalmatian shirt.

    Wednesday

    Tropical Wrap Top

Tropical Blouse, Denim Skirt and Fold Over Bag

Half-way through the week, half way to the weekend – right? Make an impression at the office with the addition of a tropical top and wrap up your Hump Day look with a vibrant trench coat.

    Thursday

    Floral Flared Top

Floral Top, Denim Skirt and Blazer

When you have a board meeting at 9 but cocktails at 7, dress in smart casual chic. Pair the skirt with a boss-like blazer and throw on a floral top for a feminine finish. Mix it up swapping your court shoes for block heels.

    Friday

    Leopard Print T-Shirt

Leopard Print T-Shirt, Denim Skirt and Rucksack

Make denim your feel-good Friday essential by styling it with an embellished cardigan. When the day’s done and you’re ready for weekend drinks, leave the cardy at the office and let the leopard print top do the talking. For a day-to-night look that’s impossible to not have fun in, stay on-trend and finish with a 90s rucksack.

    Saturday Day

    Flower Print T-Shirt

Floral Top, Denim Skirt and Fold Over Bag

After your much-needed lie-in, make a floral top the perfect pairing for your denim skirt. A look intended for a day of strolling through food markets or visiting art galleries, team with a casual bag.

    Saturday Night

    Silky Sleeveless Top

Silky Top, Denim Skirt, Longline Cardigan and Sequin Clutch Bag

Forget about bodycon dresses, dazzle the night away in denim by adding a sparkly clutch bag. Inject a blast of colour with a drawstring top that’ll make sure all eyes are on you when you hit the dancefloor.

    Sunday

    Floral Stripe Top

Floral T-Shirt, Denim Skirt, Knitted Cardigan and Fold Over Bag

You may have thought you were done with florals, but this outfit shows how well they work with denim. For the last day of the week, layer the top with a knitted cardigan and bring back the casual bag for a look that’s perfect for a family gathering.
