5 energy boosting tips for mums
We all know all you lovely mums have one of the most rewarding jobs in the world, but it’s also pretty damn exhausting, right? You’re on duty 24-7, no weekends off or sick days…(oh the luxury…)
It’s easy to focus on your kids and neglect yourself, but that’s not good for you, now is it?
No. It is not.
Ideally, we mums should get our eight hours of sleep and wake up full of the joys of spring but we know that’s just not realistic so here are some quick tips on how you can recharge your batteries and boost those energy levels.
You’re welcome.
Down…a bottle of water
Even before you’re feeling thirsty, mild dehydration can affect your body and may leave you feeling headachey, tired, and lacking that all-essential energy, so if you haven’t been been told before: drink more water…
Take a dip in the bath or shower
There’s nothing better than jumping into a hot bubble bath or shower to perk your spirits right up. Trust us, you’ll feel a million times better.
Be a naughty mum
Switch on Peppa Pig and set them in front of the TV for a while. OK, we don’t recommend leaving them there for the whole morning but half an hour should be enough time to have a little ‘me’ time and after, they’ll get a happier, more relaxed mummy to hang around with. Yay.
Move that booty
Studies have found regular exercise is better than a nap for boosting your energy levels.
You might not be able to do an hour’s worth of lunges and squats so just go for what you can do instead. Take a short jaunt around the block with your mini-me, or take advantage of playtime with your kids: have a race in the park or play a game of footie. If it’s too cold to go frolicking outdoors, why not opt for a spot of Wii tennis or play some music and dance around – trust us, you’ll love it as much as your kids will.
Do a style overhaul
Yep, seriously. If you’re sitting around in baggy bottoms or worse still, your pjs, it can actually make you feel more tired. You don’t have to dress up in an LFW-worthy look, but switching from your pjs to an easy day dress or a fashion-forward top will have you feeling like a brand new person.
