Meet The Team: Our Photography Coordinator

Have your ever wondered what life as a Photography Coordinator is really like? Well wonder no more because Nina has all the answers! She’ll be talking through her favourite things about working at Yumi, her standout piece from SS18 and why she’s loving sunbeams.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Yumi?

As photography coordinator my job is to organise the campaign photoshoots. Starting from working with the design team to creating shoot ideas that reflect the new season Yumi Clothing, to casting models, organising location and even creating sets with my trusty staple gun… but my favourite part of it all is seeing the final images. I love seeing the end result of something that has been worked so hard to achieve! It truly is the best feeling!

What does a typical day look like for you?

My day is different every single day! Another reason I love my job!

I work more in a process rather then day to day. I will always be planning shoots, so that process will include hiring models, crew and locations, organising samples to shoot. On the shoot day I will always be on the side of set making sure everything goes swimmingly. After that my role includes getting the images back from the studio and giving them to our online team!

What’s your standout piece from our SS18 range?

I personally love the Guipure Lace Trim and Mesh Prom Dress (available online soon)  because I think it is so incredibly elegant and boho chic! I can’t wait to add it to my summer wardrobe. I chose the Metallic Dobby Maxi Dress (available online soon) because I CANNOT wait to pair this cute dress with an edgy pair of doc martins and live out my punk princess fantasy!

What do you do when you’re not at work?

When I am not at work, I work as a freelance fashion photographer. I also play a variety of instruments; guitar, piano, flute and ukulele! So I spend a lot of time playing music with friends.

What’s one thing you’re looking forward to this Spring/Summer?

THE SUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNN!!!!!!! I need sunbeams, sunglasses and suncream! Is anyone else fed up with this cold?
