Style Crush: Givenchy Resort 2013
Thanks to the rain, you may feel as if this Spring/Summer has barely started but the fashion world has already moved on to NEXT Spring, with the Resort 2013 shows that are happening at the moment. These collections give us a glimpse into the trends and styles we will all be wearing next Summer. The Givenchy show particularly caught our eye, with its asymmetric shapes, cape inspired sleeve detailing and folky, rustic patterns, we have a big style crush. What a fantastic weekend the Jubilee was! Four days off work and the country coming together in a patriotic party! TV presenter Layla Anna-Lee took centre stage presenting live coverage in Trafalgar Square of the celebrations and she wore our Jubilee Dress, obviously the only suitable choice for such a great occasion!

Weekend Plans: The British Biscuit Festival!
With the Diamond Jubilee celebrations coming to a halt, we have been looking for another excuse to celebrate all things British. Kate Middleton took the Diamond Jubilee as an opportunity to make it clear exactly who her favourite British designer is, as she was seen in two stunning Alexander McQueen outfits, above, plus she wore a McQueen coat over her dress at the Jubilee concert. Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen designed her now iconic wedding dress last year and it clearly cemented a passion for the label for Kate. Chic, yet fashionable, we love her style. A handsome Prince is always great as an accessory too!

Here is a brilliant Jubilee themed fact of the day for you. Today would have been style icon and movie legend Marilyn Monroe‘s 86th birthday, she was born in 1926, the same year as………Queen Elizabeth! Yes, if Marilyn was still with us, they would be the same age!!! So, in this year of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, there is nothing more fitting than delighting in Marilyn’s most iconic movie moment – ‘Diamond’s Are A Girl’s Best Friend’. Enjoy!

Yumi Press Day Autumn/Winter 2012
Last week our central London showroom played host to our press day, which showcased our new Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. And what a day it was! Not only did we have a pic and mix stand with all our favourite yummy treats (and yes, we did feel sick from stuffing our faces throughout the day!) but the very talented Illustrated Nail was working her nail art magic on magazine editors, fashion bloggers and buyers, while they perused our upcoming collection. It was a great day all round!
