Happy Mother’s Day!

This year Mother’s Day falls on March 26th, which gives us the perfect opportunity to shower the special ladies in our lives with lots of love.

Although most of us join in on the festivities, how many of us know the history? Well, we did some digging. David Starkey, get ready to be amazed.

Mothering Sunday originates from a Christian and Catholic tradition. Falling on the forth Sunday in Lent, it signified a time when people returned to their mother church. Furthermore, it allowed servants to return to their mothers. Once Anna Jarvis established Mother’s Day in the USA during 1913, the holiday’s popularity exploded and our mums got lots of lovely gifts!

Over 100 years later, the holiday continues to being celebrated. How wonderful!

Mother’s Day has made us think about our mums. Therefore we have curated our favourite photos.

Our Online Production Assistant, Vickie spoke to us on her best Mother’s Day memories “I’ve always loved Mother’s Day. Mum and I always use it as an excuse to go shopping although we always end up having a pub lunch and a walk in out local park!”
