Trend Alert: Blueprint
Blue and White is the most eye-catching colour combination for SS’13, leading to a host of delicate China blue and striking mosaic prints. On the catwalk, designer’s played with every shade of blue – from bright cobalt’s at Burberry, Versace, Etro and Felder Felder to lady-like cornflower shades at Chalayan and aquamarine at Zac Posen. But in the end it was the prints which really took our collective breaths away. Giorgio Armani, Gucci and Thakoon all chose to mix their blue’s with aqua’s and fresh whites, the later of which featured butterfly and floral motifs in directional shapes and a mix of sheer and high gloss fabrics. In London it…

Emporio Armani, Gucci, Alberta Ferretti and Etro quickly followed suit with drop waist sequined skirts and beading and…

Crazy for a Daisy
Daisy lace and crochet were key trends on the spring / summer 2013 catwalks for a number of designer’s. First imagined by rising talent Simone Rocha (above) in bright neon’s and fresh white, daisy lace soon became a hot topic of conversation, appearing in her father, John Rocha’s show as well. But whilst John Rocha chose a dreamy and romantic palette of nude, plus black and white with layers of tulle, Simone toughened up daisy lace with her signature brogue shoes and mannish, over-sized tailoring in jackets, tank tops, short dresses and tube skirts. Jasper Conran also picked up on daisy’s as a theme, showing printed and crochet versions alongside…

Izzy Stocks blogs on the Yumi-Styled Sightseer
The envied life of an explorer galvanized the Spring/Summer 13 catwalks, with Tommy Hilfiger debuting the wardrobe of a stylish sailor girl. Hilfiger mixed jock-jersey, regatta stripes, laid back denim and rope-ties to create a ready-to-pack selection of basic yet incredibly chic pieces. And beach getaways weren’t the only vacation target – many a designer captured the fashionistas eye by incorporating the allure of the rain forest in their designs. As well as offering the nautical stripes, sundresses and tropical bird prints found in any self respecting summer closet, Yumi has exactly what you need to nail the sightseer persona this season. For example, our quirky camera prints exude an artsy vibe worthy of…

Sail Away with Nautical Stripes
Our nautical themed Spring/Summer 2013 edit is the perfect companion to those forthcoming boat balls, beach BBQ’s and poolside parties; a classic, preppy piece of sailor-chic. Nauticality reemerges each sunny season as an essential staple of any fashionista’s wardrobe. Tommy Hilfiger (above right) took us on a nautical journey along New York’s Hudson River for his venturesome S/S ‘13 offering. Americana reds, blues and whites made up his explorer-themed colour palette, with buttoned-up sailor dresses and regatta-striped, pyjama style suits strolling down the catwalk. Hilfiger was just one of numerous designers to walk the line, with Dolce and Gabbana (above left) embracing the Breton stripe in their ‘Sea, Sun, Love’ collection. Ruler-lined…
