This Weekend’s Adventure Guide: Parties, Roof Top Bars, Yoga, Taste of London & Picnics

Ah, saying goodbye to the weekend is never easy, but saying hello to a new one most definitely is!

Here at Yumi HQ, we never sit in the back seat when it comes to our weekend planning.

This weekend’s adventure guide consists of Magic Doors, 6 story high rooftops and a hell lot of yummy food.  Want to make the use of your weekend? Then read your way through this weekend’s guide…

Before making a visit to Lunar Festival, The Garden Festival and Eastern Electrics, one of the UK’s best kept secrets is making a summer return.

After its sold-out event last December, Magic Doors is back!

Now if you’re fed up with the same old local pub, or Clapham Inferno’s crammed dance floor. Then step this way to a magical and unforgettable night.

With Wildkats being announced as their new London residents, you can also expect a night full of secret guest DJs, Dress ups, Confession booths, Photobooth, Magic Beans, a lorry load of glitter and other makeover silliness, including mind bending visuals. Step your way down the rabbit hole for a night full of wonders and adventures.

Oh and just remember…. Magic Door is not a metaphor; there really is a real Magic Door…oh yesss!

Tickets start from £10 + bf/ Location: Bloc – Hackney Wick, London/ Time: 10pm – 6am/ Tickets can be purchased on either Resident Advisor or Magic Doors website.

After a night painting the town red, we all need that 21st century hangover cure. So what’s better then a morning Yoga session on top of a London roof garden? We’d say there’s nothing more refreshing. That’s why we’ve added Fat Budda Yoga to this adventure guide.

Why not start your Saturday sky high with a modern approach to the art and science of Yoga? Sound good? What’s more, founder Jessica Skye, a Yoga guide, NTC trainer for Nike and DJ by night, might just be the ‘coolest’ yoga teacher around!

Cue an explanation of the class by the lady herself:

“Expect to wake up, warm up, breathe deep, open, stretch, release and energize with this open level class packed full of variations – for the yoga virgin to the pro. Come and ease tension, build strength, soak up the summer vibes and start the weekend off right.”

Location: Dalston Roof top, London /Sessions start from £10 + £5 membership fee/ Times: 11am – noon/ For more information and tickets click here.

Here at Yumi HQ were big fans of a good old British picnic, but like most of us the hassle of lugging a perfectly prepared hamper (yes, we do make up good ones) to the park seems like a whole load of effort. Well, we’ve stumbled across a new invention you’ll find hard not to try this weekend – Parknic. A simple (yet great) invention of a Picnic delivery service. With 4 easy steps, you can order your food, drink and set a location and time for delivery.

With its current delivery locations being Green Park and Hyde park – we can see this going worldwide! For more information click here

After a day full of stretching and contorting in ways you thought weren’t possible, you’re probably thinking there’s no better way to end your Saturday than sitting in the same old beer garden…Well girls there is…what about on top of a 6 story car-park, with a 360 degree view of London … we would like to introduce you to Frank’s, one of the most renowned rooftop bars in London. With a fully licensed bar, star rated food, lively atmosphere and a view to-die-for – there’s no better way to finish your Saturday evening than here.

Location: Peckham, London/ Price: Free entry/ Times; Tues until Fri: 5pm-11am – Sat & Sun: 11am – 11pm. Click here for more information

A weekend full of picnics, yoga, parties, and 6 story high rooftops is nothing without the  cherry on top and that’s where Taste of London comes in. From the 17th – 21st June, Taste of London is back with its summer residency at Regents Park. With stalls and stalls full of mouth-watering food and enough drink to quench anyone’s dehydration this event is perfect for any foodie.
