Autumn / Winter 2013 Press Day Sneak Peek
Last week Yumi held its Autumn/Winter 2013 press day, officially unveiling the new collection. It also revealed the newest face along with the new face of the brand for the season; up-and-coming singer Nina Nesbitt. The press day, which took place at Yumi’s central London showroom, had an Alice in Wonderland. Inspired by some of the prints in the collection, a huge Flamingo graphic attracted attention from the street and an upside down table stuck to the ceiling, tea cups stuck to the walls and a deer wearing a top hat created drama inside. Guests we’re treated to refreshments with ‘drink me’ labels and tarot card readings from the talented Lady Lilac. The collection stays true to its English…

Hosted every Sunday and strictly for girls only, Sunday Sanctuary is a retreat from the outside world – for three hours at least – where you are met with a free cocktail on arrival and showed to a private seating area. With a big screen TV showing a different film each week (we watched the first Sex and The City movie) you can choose to watch with their cordless headphones, or just catch up on the latest gossip. Extra treats come…

Izzy Stocks Blogs on Metallic Mania.
Metalwork had a note-worthy influence on the Spring/Summer ’13 catwalks, with many a designer providing luminescent fabrics for the sun to bounce off beautifully. While sweet-toothed Christopher Kane went stylishly OTT with his Quality Street inspired trenches and two pieces at Burberry Prorsum, Raf Simmons embraced the beauty of iridescent organza at Dior. Chloé modernised their girlish ruffles and light-as-air chiffons and silks with a glossy lacquer that appeared on coordinating, hibiscus-printed tees and skirts. We love Dior and Chloé’s combinations of sheen and florals- flowers keep the look dainty while metallics themselves say bang-on-trend. Our Floral Jacquard Metallic Dress will have you looking as polished and pretty by night…
