Summer Diaries: Lost Village Festival 2015
Ahh yess, so it begins…Last Bank Holiday played host to this years first wave of festivals. Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Love Saves the Day, Common People, Lost Village and Drifters Festival were amongst the handful of events to help jump start this year’s festival antics, as well as reassuring us that summer isn’t too far away (dresses at the ready girls!)

Well lucky for you, our Marketing Assistant Faye has been invited to a handful of the best festivals around! Giving you a front row seat at some of the most high profile festivals Britain has to offer. So leap, jump, skip or walk this way and step closer to the first segment of Summer Diaries: Lost Village Festival 2015 Addition – no Wellington boots necessary.
And the check list begins…
Sleeping bag: Check.
Tent: Check.
Travel treats: Check.
Hunters: Check.

So this weekend I’ve been invited to attend the first ever Lost Village Festival; a small and intimate festival set amongst abandoned woodlands in the Lincolnshire countryside. With acts such as Maribou state, Annie Mac, Four Tet, Hedi and Dusky performing, I couldn’t be more ready to hit up my first festival of the season.
After 2 and a half hours travelling, a 1 hour game of I spy, 1 Krispy Kreme, and 3 pit stops, we were there! After a quick outfit change – the woods couldn’t wait any longer.
Our first steps into Lost Village set us on a quest to find the hidden stages, so with a good craft beer in hand we set off.
The winding footpaths lead us to all three main music areas, from the abandoned Chapel via the Forgotten Cabin through to the Ruins.
Throughout our Alice in Wonderland-esque adventure, we stumbled upon natives (aka actors) of the Lost Village: an escaped prisoner, a missing dead Bride and her Groom…the woods really did have many surprises in store.
After a good couple of laps soaking in the atmosphere, we opted for a beer and burger break.
Without a second thought we, of course, made our way to the legendary Patty and Bun (the best burger joint in London, if you ask me… the best in the world if you ask my boyfriend!) Once sat down with a beer from Bear Hug Brewery, we found ourselves listening to an intimate disco set from the boys that are Maribou State – a perfect way to see in the night.
With acts such as Dusky, Jamie Jones, Patrick Topping and Four Tet all on Saturday nights line-up, we hit the fairy-lit pathway back through the woods.
One of the best things about Lost Village is its small village feel, seeing as a lot of the acts we wanted to see did clash, it really wasn’t a problem as stages were only minutes away from each other. No DJ could have been missed – no 10 mile hikes here guys!
Sunday morning proved that no British festival is complete without rain! But my dizzy head just needed one thing, bacon – and the Breakfast Club didn’t disappoint!
Once refuelled we explored the entertainment Lost Village had to offer, with a mini shopping spree at Rokit Vintage, a stop at the henna tattoo parlour, and a look in the Barnet fair, we were ready again to jump back into the woods.
Sunday kept its bar high, with a spontaneous paint fight, Reggae Aerobics and a strong line up of acts. From Annie Mac and DJ Koze to Leon Vynehall, Lost Village had some strong acts to finish the weekend with.
Lost Village is sure to grow bigger and better every year – so if I was you, I would be buying my early bird ticket and attending this magical place before the Lost Village gets found.
