Lovelies from the Couture AW12 Shows
Ah how we love the couture shows – they are collections designed purely to look beautiful, one off pieces that are made to measure for whoever orders them. If only we had the money! The couture collections are made outside the realms of practicality or the mainstream trends, they are literally high fashion at its very best. The Valentino show (pictured above and directly below) was our favourite, featuring romantic, ethereal pieces. In fact the whole collection looks like it was made for Florence Welsh, with its capes and floral embellishments. The Christian Dior show was muchly anticipated as it was the first collection from new creative director Raf Simons,…

Oh The Times We Had At Bread And Butter…
It was an early start on Wednesday morning when we set up our stand at Berlin’s Bread and Butter trade show. For any of our lovely blog readers who aren’t so familiar with trade shows, this is where we showcase our new season product to retailers and fashion bodies from all over the world. It’s quite a strange concept – back in Blighty we’re still holding out for a 2012 Summer but in Berlin we were already skipping ahead to next year for SS13! Fashion plays with our brains! And what little gems we have instore for next year – we’ve gone all out for 50s retro with nipped in waists and…

Happy Independence Day: National Anthem by Lana del Rey
Happy Independence Day to all our American friends! Let’s celebrate by watching the new video from one of our favourite Americans – Miss Lana del Rey and quite fittingly for today, it’s called National Anthem. We are in love with Lana’s sultry, retro inspired look and in this video, she channels one of the style icons of the 1960’s – Jackie Kennedy, wife of President John F Kennedy (see her brilliant style here). If you fancy getting Lana’s 1960’s image, our Judy collar dress and colour block shift dress are perfect for this look. In fact, our Mela embellished collar dress is a dead-ringer for the dress Lana wears at the…

Black and Gold at the Serpentine Gallery Summer Party
Every year the Serpentine Gallery Summer Party in London’s Hyde Park brings out the capitals glamour-pusses and black and gold were the colours of the night, our favourite looks from the event were in these tones. We loved the elegant shapes of the dresses worn by actress Mischa Barton in a pale yellow gold shade and model Erin O’Connor looked great channelling the 1920’s in flapper feathers. Being models, Cara Delevigne and Laura Bailey, always look stunning but we thought they looked particularly flawless with their looks last night. To mix it up, model Mary Charteris and actress Holly Valance went for the sequinned approach to the colours, we love…

Andy Warhol Exhibition at the Dulwich Picture Gallery
We get a lot of inspiration from pop art and the retro 60’s prints (just look at the prints on many of our dresses) so when we heard about the latest exhibition featuring Andy Warhol’s Portfolios we knew we had to share it with you! The exhibition focuses on Warhol’s silk-screen printing period and features iconic portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Muhammad Ali and the infamous rows of Campbell’s Soup Cans. This is the first time the exhibition of 80 works from 13 portfolios has visited Europe and runs in the Dulwich Picture Gallery until Sept 16th. Andy Warhol once said, “If you want to know all about Andy Warhol, just…

Rihanna Rocked the Hackney Weekend!
We went to the Radio 1 Hackney Weekend yesterday and it was AMAZING! Headliner Rihanna looked super-stylish – only she could pull off mesh cycling shorts! (get her cool T-shirt look here) Jay Z popped out to rap on Run This Town and Umbrella for an extra dose of stardom. We loved how the only use of our umbrella for the day was up in tribute to Rihanna’s tune, as it didn’t even rain! The whole day had a great, chilled atmosphere, we also saw Azealia Banks, Dizzee Rascal, Florence and the Machine, Lana del Rey, Wretch 32 and Jessie J. Such a great line up! If you’re wondering why…
